AADI FESTIVAL AADI PERUKKU
Aadi perukku festival celebrated in cauvery river basin on the occasion of the river floods brings more water for the next crop cultivation. Aadi perukku is also known as " Aadi monsoon Festival". Aadi perukku is Tamil cultural Festival celebrated on Tamil month 18th day. the word Aadi means Tamil month and Perukku means multiply/increase. During this time increases the water level into rivers. And sows new seeds will increases yield so rice plantation starts on this month end.
