Mango is the National fruit of India and loved by all age people.Mangoes comes in summer and excellent fruit for sweet carvers. Mango is grown all over India with differnt names and different tastes as like India is cultural diversity and unique in taste and quality.
Imampasand/ Himayat
Imampasand is the King of mangoes most loved mango variety in the world. Imampasand mango has the great taste and juicy variety most cultivated in Salem Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Himayat is the local name in Telangana and Trichy has few areas of cultivation. You never waste small amount of mango once you start tasting this fruit.The fruit sizes from 200gms to 1200gms depends on Season.
Alphonso/Salem gundu
Alphonso commonly called as hapus or hafoos and in Tamilnadu called as Salem gundu is the sweet mango and small size. In north India alphonso is the only mango variety they cultivate. So the taste of other mangoes people not familiar with few mangoes which are superior than Alphonso.
Malgova
Popularly called as Salem Malgova most unique full flesh mango rich in sweetness. The mango is round big oval shape makes the big size appearance weights about 200gms to 600gms. People Gift malgova mangoes on special occasions as its special mango of royality.
Senthura
Senthoora mango is popular because of honey taste. Sendura mango is reddish yellow color has special place in peoples heart. In kerala people love senthura mango in lot than other varieties. Senthura is early bird mango where the size of mango ranges from egg to big cricket ball. The taste is divine as like Honey when you ate correct ripened stage.
Mallika
Mallika is favourite late season mango for the people across the country loves to have a piece in their seasons. Mallika mango has long shelf life than any other mangoes. Mallika mango is big lengthy mango same like totapuri but taste like Orange flavors. Mallika mangoes are excellent for juice and making of cakes and pulping sweets.
Salem bengalora
Salem banglora is very unique variety and most demanded fruit grow in salem only which has sweetnes from all stages of mango. One can have salem banglora mango even in raw state has sweetness and most similar to immapasand mango. This mango comes in both season starting and ending. The shape of mangoes are tiny peacock nose at the mango bottom and oval shape in tip of the stem.
Banganapalli/Safeda
World popular rich mango is banganapllee. Banganaplle mango is grown in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The mango has long shelf life and small seed has more sweetness. The mango is locally called as safeda because if shape flat and banisha in other places. Salem safeda has most taste and rich flavor than other places grown.
Kalapadi
Kalapadi mango is the small violet color shade mango with juicey and sweetest mango, once it ripens fully it turns to yellow. its rarest olden variety mango still found insome parts of India.
Totapuri Mango
Totapuri mango commonly called as killimokku as shape look like parrot. We can find the mango in late season in begining of the season we can use for making pickle. Small vadu is used for making vadu mango. Tender mango is best option for maavadu. In southern India most of people making pickles using killimokku vadu mango.
